Nourishing Life Infertility

Course Description: This course will impart a deep understanding of the Chinese medicine perspective on infertility. Haung-Lao classic teachings as well as other great classical works inform the workshop content.
It will thoroughly examine the TCM patterns of imbalance presenting as infertility and the associated Western medicine correlates. Using a case-based teaching format whenever possible, it will investigate the theory, the mechanisms of disease, and treatment according to both Chinese medicine and Western medicine.  Topics to be covered include: foundations of gynecology and reproductive medicine, including anatomy, physiology, and pathology, and diagnoses such as premature ovarian failure, PCOS, reproductive immunology, endometriosis, and implantation issues. Advanced topics such as treatment of recalcitrant conditions, the effect of emotions on the menstrual cycle, IVF preparation, and tools to encourage mind, body, and spirit harmony will be addressed.
The course will also provide an introduction to procedural artificial reproductive technologies and integration with TCM, a detailed explanation of the specifics of Western reproductive procedural medicine, including labs, protocols, glossary, and integrative treatment strategies. Acupuncture and herbal treatment therapies and protocols will be extensively reviewed, and special attention paid to the efficacy of massage, TCM nutrition, and breathing techniques as adjunct treatment.

Dr. Robin Tiberi, founder of Nourishing Life, and former educator and retreat facilitator for The Fertile Soul, has helped thousands of women and couples become pregnant by offering a straightforward mind-body approach that empowers the patient to take charge of their reproductive life, develop the healer within, and chart their own course on this most challenging fertility journey. She has a deep understanding of Chinese medicine that comes from 15 years of primarily gynecology practice. Her personal experience with infertility, coupled with her long study of spiritual practices give a dynamic, and unique aspect to this course.
